In May 2018, the Marcia A. Phifer Foundation Scholarship Committee completed the competitive selection process and presented a $1,000 scholarship to Eden Amare, a senior at Cardozo High School in Washington, DC, who will be attending the University of the District of Columbia and majoring in Biology.  The PBS Newshour produced a feature story highlighting the gardening program, Mighty Greens, Ms. Amare participated in at Cardozo.  In this clip, you can learn about the Mighty Greens program and hear a few words from Ms. Amare who was interviewed for the segment.

In June 2017, the Marcia A. Phifer Foundation Scholarship Committee completed the competitive selection process and presented a $1,000 scholarship to Favor Ogu, a senior at Francis L. Cardozo Education Campus in Washington, DC. 

2016 Scholarship Award

In June 2016, the Marcia A. Phifer Foundation Scholarship Committee completed the competitive selection process and presented a $1,000 scholarship to Catlin Tyson, a senior at Rancocas Valley Regional High School (RVRHS) in Mount Holly, New Jersey.  

A $1,000 scholarship was awarded to Morgan DeBow, an RVRHS senior, in memory of Pamela (nee Phifer) Watson, Marcia Phifer's middle child and co-founder of the Foundation, who passed away in September 2015.

In June 2014, the Marcia A. Phifer Foundation Scholarship Committee completed the competitive selection process and presented a $1,000 scholarship to Bashiva Kalyan a senior at Rancocas Valley Regional High School (RVRHS) in Mount Holly, New Jersey.  She initiated the RVRHS Environmental Club, led efforts which improved recycling at RVRHS and plans to pursue a civil environmental engineering degree with an emphasis on sustainable systems.

A $1,000 scholarship was awarded to Melissa Arias a senior at Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, Maryland.

The Foundation contacted guidance counselors serving Northern Burlington Regional High School, one of the schools where Marcia Phifer had worked, to increase the scholarship applicant pool.  As a result, Catherine Cincotta, a senior at Northern Burlington Regional High School, received a scholarship award.  Margaret Maher, a senior at Rancocas Valley Regional High School in Mount Holly, New Jersey, also received a scholarship.

2012 First Scholarship Award in Maryland

The Foundation worked with guidance counselors at Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, Maryland, to find graduating seniors interested in pursuing careers in specific fields.  Emma Morris, a Blair High School senior, received the scholarship and enrolled at George Washington University.

Christopher Bacon, a senior at Rancocas Valley Regional High School in Mount Holly, New Jersey, received the first Marcia A. Phifer Scholarship.  He attended Delaware Valley College and studied plant sciences.
